Max H. Anderson, Jr.

Campaign Office: 1536 Grove Ave., Madison, Ohio 44057

Occupation: Retired Madison Twp. Police Sergeant. Still working as a part-time officer

Education: Law-enforcement certificates from LCC, OPOTA, and other agencies. Completed Sunshine Law Training and received certificate.

Qualifications for This Office: Having served the township residents for over 30 years as a police officer, I have become very familiar with their problems and concerns. I have worked with both the private and business sectors of the community and been exposed to the local governing entities in several area locations.

What do you consider the most difficult challenge facing this office and how would you address this challenge?

We must improve the infrastructure (water/sewer lines) along the Route 20 corridor to help attract light commercial industry to the township. This industry would help the township’s tax base and relieve some of the tax burden from the homeowners.

William A. Brotzman

Campaign Office: 7035 Chapel Road East, Madison, Ohio 44057

Occupation: Township Trustee, Vegetable Grower, Substitute Teacher

Education:
Bus. Degree – History – Hillsdale College;
Social Studies Certification – Kent State U.

Qualifications for This Office: I have been a Township Trustee for 18 years and a lifelong resident of Madison.

What do you consider the most difficult challenge facing this office and how would you address this challenge?

Maintaining services with a slowing economy and devalued real estate. The Township will have to continue to operate in a cost effective manner. Also the township will have to continue to bring in outside funding which has amounted to over one million dollars in the last four years. When the economy improves the challenges to preserve our agricultural heritage will need to be addressed. I will continue to be the strongest voice for preservation.

Scott Hersman

Campaign Office: www.scotthersman.com
SEHersman@gmail.com

Occupation: Self employed – www.StonEngraver.com – monument maker

Education: Kent State – degrees in Business Management and Marketing

Qualifications for This Office: I maintain balance in my views. I understand and appreciate Madison’s agricultural heritage. I also have the business experience to develop Madison’s business sectors with thoughtful planning. I look for mutual benefit in collaboration with Madison Village.

What do you consider the most difficult challenge facing this office and how would you address this challenge?

Property tax is the challenge. Public services are funded by levies on homeowners. The creation of a Joint Economic Development District (JEDD) in partnership with Madison Village will ease pressure on property tax. We must work together to thoughtfully promote business investment on North Ridge Road in Madison.

Frank Krnach

Campaign Office: 6121 Meadow Wood Drive, Madison, Ohio 44057

Occupation: Retired from Lubrizol after 33 years in Mechanical Testing Department

Education: B.S. Lake Erie College 1993

Qualifications for This Office: American citizen residing in Madison Twp.

What do you consider the most difficult challenge facing this office and how would you address this challenge?

Of the many challenges facing the trustees, managing growth is the most difficult. The trustees will need to work with all of the different factions with the single purpose of doing what is best for the entire community in the long run, and not just one group.

Jeff Quirk

Campaign Office: 2440 Bennett Rd., Madison, OH 44057

Occupation: co-owner/manager Pepperidge Tree Golf Course

Education:
Graduated from Madison High School
Attended Lakeland Community College

Qualifications for This Office: I am a lifelong resident of Madison Township; have been a Township Trustee 4 years. My family has lived here for many generations owning/operating businesses in Madison. I understand the needs of Madison Township.

What do you consider the most difficult challenge facing this office and how would you address this challenge?

Having a cohesive Board to keep the Township running smoothly; saving the Township as much money as possible while moving forward and improving the Township. I think the present board including myself, has met this challenge and will continue doing what the people of the Township want.

Bill Sass

Campaign Office: 1400 Erieview Drive, Madison, Ohio 44057

Occupation: Retired from Lincoln Electric

Education: High School Graduate in 1959

Qualifications for This Office: Twelve year Chesterland Trustee. Sixteen years Lincoln Advisory Board. Twenty years Lincoln Employee Association. Three terms as Master of Masonic Lodge. Four years Air Force. Worked with youth in baseball and football. Led fight for new Lake Road East.

What do you consider the most difficult challenge facing this office and how would you address this challenge?

Lack of progress. We have lost jobs, homes, and families. Many homes are devalued by junk vehicles and trash. Lack of expanded sewer district to attract major restaurants and businesses. Lack of recreation facilities. Lack of concern for the over all tax payers. ADDRESS EACH ISSUE ONE AT A TIME.
